Refund & Delivery
Version 2026-08-20 · Effective before the first enabled payment
A paid effect is delivered only after the processor's signed webhook confirms payment. A success redirect by itself never grants placement.
What counts as delivery
Fuel is delivered when exactly one append-only ledger effect increases the selected claimed listing. A verified strike is delivered when exactly one effect reduces the target and publicly attributes the responsible verified claimant listing. The checkout return view reports the stored status without exposing payer information.
Refundable situations
- Duplicate charges for the same intended effect.
- Payment cleared but no effect was delivered.
- The target or verified strike actor became ineligible before settlement, so the system granted no effect.
- Another refund required by applicable law, card-network rules, or processor obligations.
Completed effects
Once an effect is correctly delivered, it is otherwise final. Fuel continues to decay on its disclosed 14-day half-life, and later board movement does not mean delivery failed. This policy does not limit cardholder, chargeback, consumer-protection, or statutory rights.
How adjustments affect the board
A successful refund or dispute creates an append-only proportional adjustment that reverses the corresponding delivered effect. The original accounting event remains. If the processor later reinstates disputed funds, only the disputed portion is restored. Public names for removed listings remain hidden.
Requesting help
Email support@theytookourjob.com with the checkout date, amount, target listing, and the non-sensitive checkout reference. Never email a card number, bank credential, SSN, password, API key, or magic link. Refund arrival time is controlled by the payment processor, card network, and issuer.
